On Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at about 8:53 a.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to the area of 6th and Ash Streets to locate a male who appeared to be injured. City of Clovis Public Works employees noted the injured subject and called his description into Clovis Police Department Dispatch. The subject was described as having been shot or stabbed by the initial callers.
Officers located the subject, a 32 year old male, in the area of 8th and Walnut Streets. The subject had an injury to his right hand, and what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his lower left leg. When questioned about his injuries, he stated he was hit by a car. His injuries were not consistent with injuries received by a person struck by a motor vehicle.
