Robbery – 420 W. 21st – 03/29/2017

On 03/28/17, at about 9:55 pm, Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to 420 West 21st Street, to the Family Dollar store in reference to a report of a robbery. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with persons in the store who advised the suspect had fled.

A Detective from the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit was activated and dispatched for an investigation into the robbery. During interviews of the victims, Officers were given a description of the suspect. According to a victim, a black male subject who was wearing a black bandanna covering the majority of his face, entered the store and walked directly to the cash register. The victim recounted how the suspect pulled a handgun from his clothing and pointed the handgun at an employee demanding money. Employees removed money from the register and gave it to the suspect. While the suspect was distracted, employees ran to the rear of the store and called the Police. By the time Police arrived, the suspect had fled.

The suspect is described as a black male, who is about 5’08” tall, with a slim build. The subject was armed with a handgun. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, black shoes, and wore a black bandanna covering his face below his eyes.
