ATM Skimming Devices – 09/21/2017

The Clovis Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in placing electronic card reading devices, also known as skimmers, at local ATM machines. These skimming devices are attached to an ATM card slot and read personal card information stored on a victim’s card, to include PIN numbers. Since Friday, September 15th, 2017, three skimming devices have been removed from three local ATM machines.

The Clovis Police Department and the banks involved have obtained footage and still images of the suspect (pictured below) placing the device but have been unable to identify the individual. The footage shows an Hispanic male in his mid 20’s driving a light tan in color 4-door Chevy Malibu, approximately a 2002 model.

The Clovis Police Department encourages anyone with information regarding the suspect(s), or of any other cases of ATM tampering, to contact the Clovis Police Department. We also ask members of the community to be aware and examine an ATM before using it by searching for anything that looks suspicious.

The investigation is being conducted by the Clovis PD Special Operations Unit. For information regarding this event contact Detective Randy Pitcock at 575-763-7491.
