Shots Fired – 1000 blk Walnut – 01/09/2018

On Tuesday, January 9th, 2018, at about 11:45 a.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to the 1000 block of Walnut Street in reference to shots fired. The caller relayed that they had heard four gunshots and observed a male subject running into a home near the corner of 11th and Walnut Streets.

On arrival, Officers made contact with multiple female subjects at a residence in the area. When contacted they denied knowledge of anyone running into their home. During a canvass of the area Officers located three expended bullet casings in the roadway in front of their residence. Damage, consistent with bullet impacts, was found on an apartment wall north of the incident. No projectiles were recovered. The target of the shooting was not located.

The Special Operations Unit of the Clovis Police Department is investigating this incident.
