On Friday, September 21, 2018, at about 8:12 a.m., Clovis Police Department Dispatch received an emergency call for service at 1720 East Mabry Drive, Clovis, New Mexico, in reference to shots fired and a subject having possibly been shot. The caller relayed that the person who had discharged the firearm had left the scene in a red truck.
Officers responded to the scene where they located a 40 year old male subject who had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to his buttocks. This subject was stabilized and was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center. Officers and Detectives made contact with witnesses on scene and the suspected shooter, a 20 year old male.
All relevant witnesses and subjects were transported to the Clovis Police Department for interview. No persons have been taken into custody. The investigation into this event is ongoing.
The 40 year old male subject has been transported to a Lubbock, Texas area hospital and is listed in stable condition.
