Homicide (Update) – 1000 N. MLK – 06/15/2016

On Friday, June 10, 2016, at about 12:42 a.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were
dispatched to the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, The Clovis Apartments, for an injured subject. The subject, later
identified as Ramon Rollings (52 years of age) was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for his injuries. At about 4:10
a.m., Rollings was pronounced dead. During this same time frame another male (39 years of age), was admitted into the
Emergency Room for a laceration to his head. The Major Crimes Unit was activated and the investigation into Rollings’ death
was launched.
It was discovered both Rollings and the 39 year old male were involved in the incident. The crime scene at 1000 North Martin
Luther King Boulevard was processed and items of evidentiary value were recovered. Evidentiary items are being forwarded to
the New Mexico Crime Lab for processing. Multiple witnesses have been interviewed. The Major Crimes Unit is waiting the
processing of forensic evidence in reference to this case, before any charges will be filed. As of this date, no arrests have been
made.
The Major Crimes Unit is still trying to locate a person who was possibly with Rollings at the Clovis Apartments, when this
event occurred. The person is described as a black male, aged in his early twenties whose hair is fashioned in small braids. The
Clovis Police Department and Major Crimes Unit asks you to contact law enforcement if you have information into this event
or if you know who this person is.

Robbery – 1300 blk Wallace St. – 06/13/2016

On Monday, June 13, 2016, at about 1:03 p.m., Officers and Detectives of the Clovis Police
Department were dispatched 2100 North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Plains Regional Medical Center (PRMC), in
reference to an injured subject.
Detectives made contact with, the victim, a male subject (51 years of age), who stated he had stopped at a business in the
1300 block of Wallace Street, when a green two door vehicle pulled alongside him. The 51 year old male stated a subject in
the vehicle pointed a pistol at him and demanded his wallet and cellular phone. The 51 year old male subject said he threw his
cellular phone into the vehicle, and the subject within the car shot at him. The 51 year old male subject was shot in the back of
his right leg below the knee. He could not identify his assailant. The victim did not call for an Ambulance or Police and was
transported to PRMC by personal means.
The 51 year old victim was subsequently flown to a Lubbock, Texas area hospital for the bullet wound. At the scene,
Detectives located a bullet casing. The investigation into this robbery is ongoing.

Aggravated Assault – 1100 blk. Prince St. – 06/13/2016

On Monday, June 13, 2016, at about 12:50 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were
dispatched to the area of 11th and Prince Street in reference to shots fired. On arrival, Officers made contact with a Minnie
Hernandez (42) who stated her husband, identified as Daniel Harrison (35), had just shot at her. Officers were directed to a
residence in the 1100 block of North Prince Street. Officers set a perimeter around the home. At about 1:36 p.m., Daniel
Harrison, exited the home and was detained.
Detectives of the Clovis Police Department responded to the scene. During the course of the investigation, a bullet casing was
located on the roadway. Hernandez also told Detectives she had been battered by Daniel Harrison. Hernandez had sustained
an injury to her nose. Detectives are continuing their investigation into this incident.
Daniel Harrison was arrested for Aggravated Assault on a Household Member and Aggravated Battery on a Household
Member, and was transported to the Curry County Adult Detention Center.

Homicide – 1000 N. MLK – 06/10/2016

On Friday, June 10, 2016 at approximately 0042 hours; Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to 1000 N. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., for an injured subject on the north side of the Clovis Apartments. Upon arrival, Officers found a male subject, later identified as Raymon Rollings, Jr., 52 years of age, lying on the ground with head injuries.

Clovis Fire/Emergency Medical Service personnel arrived on scene and then transported the victim to Plains Regional Medical Center-Clovis for treatment of his injuries. Raymon Rollings succumbed to his injuries at 0410 hours this morning.

At approximately 0048 hours, PRMC-Clovis personnel contacted the Clovis Police Department stating a male subject with a stab wound to the head, had been dropped off at the front entrance of the Emergency Room. This is also under investigation at this time and is unknown if these two incidents are related.

Evidence at the scene showed a physical altercation had taken place near where the victim had been located. The investigation into the homicide is being conducted by the 9th Judicial District Major Crimes Unit (MCU) in conjunction with the Clovis Police Department.

The investigation is continuing at this time and updates will be released when information becomes available.

Aggravated Battery – 200 blk Davis – 06/06/2016

On Monday, 06/06/2016, at about 6:10 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department responded
to the 200 block of Davis Street in Clovis, New Mexico, for an injured subject. The caller relayed to Clovis Police Department
Dispatch that a female was battered by a male subject, and that a male subject fled the area in a vehicle.
On arrival, Officers made contact with a 34 year old female. The female had sustained multiple stab wounds on her body and
was bleeding profusely. While in contact with the Officers, the female identified her assailant as Aaron Morrisette (32 years of
age). The 34 year old female was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center by Clovis Fire Department Ambulance and was
subsequently flown to a Lubbock, Texas area hospital with life threatening injuries.
The Major Crimes Unit was activated and is investigating this crime. Arrest warrants have been generated for Aaron
Morrissette who is described as being 5’11 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds, with multiple tattoos on his neck. Morrissette is
wanted for Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony, Aggravated Battery, and Unlawful Taking of a Motor Vehicle.
Morrissette should be considered armed and dangerous. The Clovis Police Department and Major Crimes Unit asks you to
contact law enforcement if you see this person.

Kidnapping – 500 blk of West 11th – 04/27/2016

On Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at about1:40 a.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department
located a vehicle which had failed to yield at a stop sign at 9th and Prince. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the
vehicle evaded. The vehicle was located by a second Officer who attempted to stop it, and it again evaded, reaching excessive
speeds. The pursuit was terminated. The suspect continued driving erratically, crashing through a fence in the area of Grand
Street and Industrial.
Officers responded to the scene of the crash, where they located a 27 year old female who had been injured. She was
bleeding from her neck and arms. Detectives of the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit were dispatched to
investigate the crime.
Detectives spoke to the female victim who reported she had been at a residence in the 500 block of West 11th Street, when
Robert Sena (26 years of age), kicked in the door to the home, entering it, armed with a knife and firearm. A physical fight
occurred between a 28 year old male in the home and Sena. Sena stabbed the 28 year old male, and kicked and stabbed the
27 year old female. The 27 year old female was taken by force from the home by Sena, who subsequently fled from police.
The 27 year old female victim was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center and was subsequently airlifted to a Lubbock, Texas
hospital. She had sustained at least 23 stab wounds to her body in her right hand, hip, wrist, bicep and neck.
Detectives of the Clovis Police Department generated an arrest warrant for Robert Sena for Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery on
a household member, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Fleeing a Law Enforcement Officer, Felon in Possession of a Firearm,
and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
A BOLO (Be On the Look Out for) was sent out to agencies in the area including Ft. Sumner in De Baca County. Sena was taken
into custody without further incident at approximately 7:45 a.m. Sena is currently being held in detention in Fort Sumner, New
Mexico on a $100,000.00 cash only bond.

Fatal Crash – 1100 blk West Sandia – March 31, 2016

On Thursday, 03/31/2016, at about 12:38 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department responded to the 1100 block of West Sandia Street in Clovis, New Mexico, for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
On arrival, Officers noted a green in color 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle, on its side and a black Nissan car with impact marks on its drivers’ left front and drivers’ side windshield. Preliminary investigation indicates the motorcycle was travelling east on Sandia Street, the Nissan was turning west onto Sandia Street from Williams Street, from a posted yield sign.
The Nissan was being driven by a 40 year old male from Clovis. The motorcycle was being driven by Patrick Smith, 20 years of age, of Clovis. Smith was not wearing a helmet.
Clovis Fire Department Ambulance transported Smith to Plains Regional Medical Center. Patrick Smith succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:14 p.m.
The Clovis Police Department Major Crash Team was activated and investigation into this crash is continuing.

Armed Robbery – 221 N. Main St. – March 22, 2016

On 3/21/2016, at about 9:46 p.m., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to an armed robbery which had just occurred at the Dairy Queen restaurant located at 2221 North Main Street. Officers responded to the scene and contacted employees and witnesses to the robbery.
According to the witnesses, the suspect, a male subject armed with a handgun, entered the business from its rear entrance, passing two employees who were throwing trash in the alley. The suspect stole bank bags containing deposits from the business and as he exited the store, the suspect pointed a handgun at two of the employees before fleeing the scene.
Employees and witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic male subject wearing a black jacket with a gray in color hooded sweatshirt underneath it. He was also wearing a dark blue in color bandanna covering his face. The investigation into this event is ongoing. Clovis, NM – March 1, 2016 – The Clovis Police Department would like to remind the public to exercise caution when conducting purchases of items through social media (virtual yard sales, Facebook, etc.) Recently a robbery has been reported where persons were trying to purchase a gaming system from an individual who had posted on social media they were selling one. When the victims met with the suspect they were robbed at gunpoint.
Be aware of whom you are buying something from. Make well thought out choices of where you will meet to conduct your purchase. If a deal is too good to be true, it just might be. There is no “thing” in this world more important than your safety and the safety of your family.

Arrests Made for Robbery March 2, 2016

Clovis, NM – March 2, 2016 – On 02/29/2016, at about 6:49 P.M., Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Kansas Street in Clovis, New Mexico for a robbery. Officers made contact with two juveniles who relayed they were robbed at gunpoint while at a parking lot in the 1400 block of Norris Street. Detectives from the Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit were tasked with the investigation.
On 03/01/16, a suspect was identified during the course of the investigation. The suspect, a 17 year old male, was located, interviewed and taken into custody. During a search of the suspects residence, a Davis Industries .380 handgun, a Michael Korrs watch (which had been reported stolen from one of the victims of the robbery) and some cash was recovered. The 17 year old suspect identified a co-conspirator to the robbery. This subject, another 17 year old male, was located, interviewed and taken into custody.
One of the 17 year old male suspects was arrested for the delinquent acts of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony. The second 17 year old male suspect was arrested for Conspiracy to Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Assault with Intent to Commit a Violent Felony. Both suspects were transported to the Curry County Juvenile Detention Center.
