On Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at approximately 8:45 PM, the Clovis Police Dispatch Center received a 911 call of shots being fired in the 1000 blk of N. Prince Street. As officers were enroute to the area, the dispatch center received a second call indicating a person was “down.”
Officers arrived on scene to find a 44 year old male and a 25 year old female in the front yard of 1004 ½ N. Prince Street. These two victims had been shot. The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the female victim was rushed to PRMC’s Emergency Room. The female victim was later transported to a medical facility in Lubbock, where she later died.
A person of interest has been detained and the investigation is ongoing. At this time the names of the victims are not being released pending the notification of family. As further details develop, a press release will be completed to provide that information.
