Clovis – July 14th, 2014 – On Sunday, July 13th, 2014, at approximately 2:27 AM, the Clovis Police Department responded to the intersection of 7th Street and Norris Street on a report of a single vehicle rollover collision.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers located evidence a black Hyundai was traveling at a high rate of speed, westbound on 7th Street at the intersection of Marlene Blvd. The evidence indicates the Hyundai lost control and traveled into the parking lot of 2400 E. 7 th Street and struck a protective barrier for the fire hydrant located there.
The Hyundai continued westbound through the parking lot of 2300 E. 7th Street and struck the west curb line of the lot. This caused the Hyundai to roll several times, ejecting the passenger from inside the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle was fatally injured and pronounced dead on the scene.
The occupants of the Hyundai are Airmen from Cannon Air Force Base with off base residences in Clovis. The owner and driver of the Hyundai has been identified as 20 year old Tylan Bolden. The passenger is identified as 22 year old Andrew Padilla. The crash investigation is being conducted by the Clovis Police Department's Major Crash Team. The investigation is continuing as speed and alcohol are factors in the collision.
No charges have been filed, but the team is working in conjunction with the 9th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
