The Clovis Police Department, Curry County Sheriff’s Office, and New Mexico State Police, are seeking participants for the 21st Session of the Citizens Police Academy. Classes will be held on Tuesday, beginning September 2, 2014, for twelve (12) weeks, ending November 18, 2014.

The Citizens Police Academy is a guide to give you a better understanding of the rigors a police officer must endure.

Classes include:

  • Criminal Law
  • Investigations
  • Traffic Law and Crash Investigation
  • Drug Interdiction
  • Domestic Violence

This is just a few of the many classes which are scheduled to be conducted during your education. Officers who are trained in particular areas will instruct the classes and you will experience hands-on exercises in crime scene investigations, firearms and driving to name a few.
