Incident Type: Suspicious Death – Man Found Dead In Vacant House In Clovis, NM

On Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at approximately 9:30 am Clovis Police responded to a house in the area of the 300 block of West 14th Street in Clovis in reference to a citizen report of an aggravated battery that had previously occurred there. Upon arrival Clovis Police discovered a deceased person in a vacant house in the 300 block of West 14th Street, believed to be that of an adult male. Because of the condition of the body, additional identifiers were not available. Due to the suspicious nature of the investigation, the 9th Judicial District’s Major Crimes Unit is assisting in the investigation. Several search warrants and interviews are being conducted and the investigation is currently on going.
The victim has not been positively identified at this time and is pending identification from autopsy at the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque, NM. The identity of the victim will be released upon positive identification by the Office of the Medical Investigator and pending the notification of next of kin.
