Incident Type: Two 14 Year Old Females Injured In Car Crash After Rollover Crash Into House In Clovis

On 11/16/2009 at approximately 6:45 PM, the Clovis Police Department and Fire Department were dispatched to 1603 South Main Street in Clovis in reference to a motor vehicle rollover crash into a house. Upon arrival Officers found a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV rolled over on the porch of 1603 South Main Street. Officers found two injured female teenager’s on-scene from the van. The driver was bleeding from the head and the passenger had a compound fracture to the right arm. None of the occupants of the home were injured. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for their injuries. The driver was treated and released and the passenger with the compound fracture to her arm was transported to a Lubbock Hospital due to the severity of the broken arm. Her current condition is stable, but the condition of the injury to the arm is unknown. The names of the two teenagers are being withheld as the driver of the vehicle is pending charges for Careless Driving and Driving Without A License. Both teenagers are under the legal age to drive and the Chevrolet Tahoe, which they took without permission, belongs to the passenger’s mother.
Preliminary investigation at the scene by members of the Clovis Police Department Crash Team revealed that the Chevrolet Tahoe was headed North bound on South Main Street and lost control sliding off of the roadway, rolled over and collided into the front porch of 1603 South Main Street. There was no evidence at the scene to indicate any alcohol involvement. The investigation is still active by the Clovis Police Department Traffic Crash Team and charges are pending.
